Richard Salzman, MD, PhD is a Associate Professor and Head of Department of Otorhinolaryngology and Head&Neck Surgery at Olomouc University Hospital and Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry, Palacky University Olomouc, Czech Republic. He completed his postgraduate training in Brno, Czech Republic and later on head&neck and otology fellowships in London, Cambridge and Plymouth, United Kingdom. His PhD thesis at Masaryk University Brno, Czech Republic, was focused on molecular markers in head&neck surgery. He received his associate professorship at the Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic in 2018. He lead or cooperated on 8 research grants.
He has published 48 peer-reviewed articles and numerous lectures and presentations.
He is dedicated endoscopic ear surgeon, having performer over 300 totally endoscopic cases since 2014. His recent research is focused on impact and spread of heat in temporal bone exposed to endoscopic light.
Prof. Salzman is the main organiser of the Central European Endoscopic Ear Surgery Course in Olomouc, Czech Republic.
